Amber Carraway Fine Art

About Amber Carraway

Amber Carraway, a native of Utica, Mississippi, paints a variety of subjects and uses all mediums, but her favorite subject is oil portraiture. “Portraits have an addictive hold on me. I love to capture a person’s character on canvas.” The brilliant colors in her paintings have appealed to many in the market for art. She loves to draw from the beauty of God’s creation and duplicate it artistically on canvas.

Amber is a member of the Mississippi Artists’ Guild. She has won numerous awards at the local, state, and national levels. Amber has had her work shown in juried shows such as the Hilton Head Art League’s Juried Competition, the Mississippi Watercolor Society’s Grand National Watercolor Exhibit, and the Meridian Museum of Art’s Bi-State Show.

Amber has also exhibited work in group shows, and solo shows not only in Mississippi, but also in other states, and in our nation’s Capitol. Some of these places include the Jackson Municipal Art Gallery, the Meridian Museum of Art, the Mississippi Museum of Art, Cottonlandia Museum, The Mississippi State Capitol, the VFW State Headquarters in Mississippi, the United States Capitol, the White House, Corcoran Gallery, the Old Historic Post Office in Washington, D.C., and the National Society of Arts and Letters traveling art show that features some of the best emerging watercolor artists in the nation. Amber has had one of her paintings featured as the cover of the nationally published Ladies’ Auxiliary of the VFW Magazine and another purchased by the Scholastic, Inc. in New York as a part of their private collection.

Amber is driven by a strong desire to improve each painting over the last. “I feel as if God has not only blessed me with a talent in art, but He has also allowed me to discover this talent at an early age. It is my responsibility to develop this talent to the utmost of my ability. It is also my hope that I may in some way inspire others to come to discover the joy of art and to uncover their creative talent.
